The vulnerable have been let down, we are the scapegoats

Hang in there with me while I write this without getting too upset. Lets be honest, coronavirus is most prevalent in enclosed spaces where many people are gathered. Rest homes, Skilled Nursing. Hospitals!..

I am an outdoor guy. I have always loved being outside in big country. That’s the reason I live in Reno. Open spaces do not make suitable environments for viruses. Now the latest is enforcement of social distancing in our outdoor recreational areas. Seriously? Hiking trails? Biking trails? Ski hills? Boating or fishing on Lakes? We have lost our collective minds.

The politicians that think they have to take care of us, need to do what they are elected to do. Protect the vulnerable. They have failed. Horribly failed. They majority of our losses have been in these vulnerable groups. It is almost as if we have to pay for their failure to be ready for such incidents. Remember, the agencies responsible to protecting the frail and vulnerable were the ones caught with their pants down. No masks, no gowns, no testing, no common sense.

When was the last time I saw one of my geriatric frail patients with a history of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity pass me when I was out on my bike? Let me think on it, okay, never!
