As we think about restarting our devastated economy, we must also consider why we had to go overboard, to begin with. I will tell you why.
We follow like lemmings and listen without question when our so-called leaders tell us what to do. They treat an entire state with restrictions so tough as to close outdoor spaces in rural areas. This is nonsense.
Treating a rural or smaller locale without the type of population density of a large city is ridiculous and has led to crushing unemployment and is causing an undesirable psychological burden as well. Let’s open up with a regional design that recognizes that small, more rural locales understand how to distance and clean. We are not as stupid as these over-educated, know-it-alls think we are.
Closing golf courses? Are you joking? Closing outdoor recreation areas in the middle of nowhere? Really? What needs to be considered is state border closure to those folks from these huge cities during a pandemic, to limit spread and allow locals to continue to practice safe hygiene.
We are giving up too much of our freedom based on the whims and political thought processes of politicians being advised by medical pundits who have been around for years practicing the same theories they were taught last century.
These are academics who know how stupid we ordinary folks are. Or maybe not so stupid.
